Our Leadership
Dedicated individuals who give their time, gifts, and hearts to serve the Whitbourne Pastoral Charge community.
Leadership Rooted in Community
The United Church of Canada is a congregation-led tradition. Our Pastoral Charge is guided by a shared ministry model — combining the gifts of ordained ministry with the strength and wisdom of committed lay leaders drawn from within our communities.
Every leader in our Charge is first and foremost a neighbour — someone who has sat in the same pews, walked the same roads, and been shaped by the same Newfoundland communities as the people they serve.
Our Pastoral Team

A Congregation-Led Church
The United Church of Canada places the primary governance of each congregation in the hands of its members. At Whitbourne Pastoral Charge, major decisions are made through congregational meetings where every member has a voice and a vote.
The Board of Stewards provides ongoing oversight and administrative leadership between congregational meetings. It works closely with the minister and reports to the full congregation on financial, programmatic, and missional matters.
We are also accountable to the broader United Church structures — our regional Presbytery and the national General Council — which provide support, oversight, and connection to the wider church body.
